I always endeavor to begin my newsletters with a positive message but there are times when bigger things take precedence.
A recent tragic loss in our family has brought to my mind the importance of what we all bring to the world.
Each of us has a measure of grace to share and that matters - a great deal.
Sadly, often we don't know it.
For those more sensitive the world can be a brutal, harsh place.
Yet true creativity requires the tenuous balance of being open to receive but having a thick enough skin to deal with failure, rejection and being truly exposed.
Someone once said, " we must be aware of the fragile ones"
The world lost a beautiful, fragile one this week. He was on his way to becoming a brilliant chef.
So here's to dear Nicholas and all of you who dance on that difficult line of facing the world with an open heart.
Stay strong. Stay Clear. You matter. Create with a fearless, open heart.
The world needs you more now than ever. |

Scent of Wet Blossoms 8" x 12" $3,400 - SOLD |
I look forward to this three-day workshop in Wyeth country.
Confronting the vagaries of working directly from nature is one thing. Making good subjective choices which lead to artistry is something else. During this three day workshop you will be introduced to methods and ways of looking which will help you with both.
This workshop is ideal for those who would like to be introduced to working with a prismatic palette from life or for those who want a refresher to start off their summer painting.
All levels welcome - just bring humility and a healthy respect for nature! Note to students: Teaching is tailored to your level so all levels are welcome. My only requirement is that you enter the class humble to nature and open to new information.
