COMPACT Family Services earns National Accreditation!
The Hot Springs, Arkansas-based Assemblies of God Family Services Agency, through  COMPACT Family Services , has achieved national accreditation through the New York-based  Council on Accreditation  (COA). COMPACT provides a variety of family supporting services, including Hillcrest Children’s Home, Highlands Maternity Home, foster care, and CompaCare. It took COMPACT 18 months to obtain accreditation after COA evaluated all aspects of the agency’s programs, services, management, and administration.

COA accreditation is an objective, independent, and reliable validation of an agency’s performance. The COA accreditation process involves a detailed review and analysis of an organization’s administration, management, and service delivery functions against international standards of best practice. The standards driving accreditation ensure that services are well coordinated, culturally competent, evidence-based, outcomes-oriented, and provided by a skilled and supported workforce.

To achieve COA accreditation, COMPACT first provided written evidence of compliance with the COA standards. Thereafter, a group of specially trained volunteer peer reviewers confirmed adherence to these standards during a series of on-site interviews with trustees, staff, and clients.
“COA national accreditation validates COMPACT’s excellent and qualified service compliance with recent federal legislation, Family First Prevention Services Act of 2018, affecting all states and private agencies,” says Jay Mooney, executive director of the agency.

COA is the sole national independent accrediting body under the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption to accredit intercountry adoption service providers. In addition, COA is the only national accreditor designated by the U.S. Department of Defense to develop accreditation standards and processes for human service programs provided to military personnel and their families.

“This national accreditation achievement greatly accelerates the agency’s growing continuum of services and its national commission and vision to help redeem more vulnerable children, youth, and families at this critical time in our nation,” says Assemblies of God General Superintendent Doug Clay.

Assemblies of God Family Services Agency offers  Hillcrest Children’s Home  residential care, residential treatment, respite care, transitional living,  Highlands Maternity Home foster care , kinship navigators, and  CompaCare  wraparound services for  vulnerable children and families  in Arkansas. Christmas time is just around the corner on the COMP ACT ®  Campus. Christmas is a special, yet emotional time for our kids as well as our staff. Often times, it is the first time a child is away from his/her family or it is the first time Christmas will truly be celebrated.

COMP ACT ®  Christmas is a large operation on our campus and meets the needs at Christmas time as well as the continuing needs of our kids throughout the year. It is something that we could not pull off without the help of donors.

Consider supporting COMP ACT ® Christmas in one of the following ways:
  • Support one child for Christmas and purchase an item off of this child's wishlist. Contact our offices to receive a wishlist for a child.
  • Support a cottage this Christmas and help by purchasing some items for the cottage. Contact our offices to receive a wishlist for a cottage.
  • Support Christmas as a whole and send a donation to be used where most needed. You can do this by clicking the link below!
  • Support Christmas as a whole and send a gift card to be used where needed. These can be cards of any amount to any store (Walmart, Visa and Amazon are always great choices). Gift cards allow us to fulfill wish lists for our kids and shop specifically. Any leftover gift cards after all lists have been fulfilled are used throughout the year for birthdays and special occasions. Gift Cards are the gift that keeps on giving!

Donations can be mailed directly to us at the following address. If you choose to shop on  Amazon.com , you can also direct your gift to this address as well. Please include a note to where the gift is intended.

Harvest Festival 2018
On October 6, 2018, our campus came together for our annual Hillcrest Harvest Festival. We started the morning with kickball games led by our game-masters, Brian and Sharon Page. Our local SUM students provided face-painting during the games. For lunch, we held our annual Chili Cook-off with delicious chili from staff AND residents on campus. (One of our Wilmoth girls won 2nd place!) While adults tasted chili and fellowshipped, kids were able to bounce on inflatables and enjoy a Hay Ride, led by Russell Bayless, our multi-talented Maintenance Assistant.
We cannot pull off these events without the support from our donors. Big thanks to the following donors for their large contributions to this year's Harvest Festival Fundraiser:
Join Our Birthday Club
Do you enjoy sending cards to our residents for their birthdays? Our "birthday club" is a group of donors who send birthdays cards and/or gifts to residents every month.

We are extending an invitation to you to join our birthday club!

The birthday club receives a letter from our Donor Relations Coordinator every month with a list of birthdays for the following month. By joining our birthday club, there is no expectation that you will send cards every month. If you would like to join our birthday club, reply to this email with your name and mailing address.

If you have questions, feel free to respond to this email or call our office at 501-262-1660.
