CPWC will celebrate its 50th anniversary
 February 2020!

Thanks to everyone able to attend the Opening Luncheon September 14th! And earnest thanks to our programs team, interest group leads, charity team, Drake's Closet, Kidz2Leaders, and so many volunteers who helped with all the details! ACC was kind to work with us on our menu and many other details.Thanks too to everyone who brought a donation! What a beautiful day! 
We have so much going on this month; it's so exciting! 
 
This Friday, October 5th Liz Hall is hosting our First Friday event. It's a casual gathering 7-9pm at  4616 Chattahoochee Crossing.  Spouses are welcome ~ just bring an appetizer to share and a beverage.
 
On Monday, October 15 starting at 8am our hiking group will participate in ACC's Cruise the Course for the Cure in support of breast cancer. Jean Dole leads our hiking group. Anyone is welcome to come ~  it's a pretty walk with great company for a good cause! 
 
Our daytime program meeting and luncheon will be held Friday, October 19 at 10:30am at the home of Aurelie Barrial, 711 Burning Tree Drive. Our speaker is leading interior design specialist Robin LaMonte of Rooms Revamped Interior Design. She is participating in the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Designer Showhouse Tours this weekend, October 4-7! Members of our Garden Club are planning to tour Friday, Oct 5. Please contact Janet Thomas if you'd like to visit too.
 
And BOO! This Halloween has NEW tricks and treats! From 5-6pm our Family Activities have a wonderful event planned at McFarlane Nature Park! They've organized a  real-live Magic Show, dinner catered by Moe's Southwest Grill, lots of sweet treats, a costume contest, and much more!  Please bring the whole family! Some of us without little kids come to help or just watch the fun and we dress like witches! BYO Broom! Come join us!
 
Missy Malmberg and Heather Rees are well underway planning for our gala in February. Please think about jumping to work with our team to make the event a wonderful one in support of Kidz2Leaders!
 
Susan Weinstein, our membership lead, is finalizing our directory for print. Although we welcome new members throughout the year, we like to include as many members as possible in the directory. So if friends and neighbors are interested in joining CPWC, please encourage them to connect quickly so we can include them in the directory!

Our "Hope is Serene" daytime program meeting and luncheon will be held at 10:30 am at the home of Aurelie Barrial, 711 Burning Tree Dr. 

Our speaker is leading interior design specialist Robin LaMonte of Rooms Revamped InteriorDesign. Robin has been a "Best of Houzz" winner since 2013 and has appeared on Good Morning America as a decorating consultant. She is currently participating in the 2018 Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Serenbe Designer Showhouse. Robin will share with us how she completes her mission of creating "Atlanta interiors designed for living."

Daytime Book Club

The Daytime Book Club will meet on Monday, Oct. 8, at 10 AM at the home of Judy Winchell.  

We will discuss Miller's Valley by Anna Quindlen

The Yoga Interest Group meets on Tuesdays at 11:30 am, at the home of Linda Pace. Beginners welcome! There are mats available to use or bring your own.

Hiking


Oct 15
The Hiking Group is participating in the Atlanta Country Club Pink Ribbon Week's 6th Annual "Cruise the Course" walk of ACC golf course on October 15 (7:30 a.m. check-in). This is open to the community. Grab a friend and walk the 5-mile course. All proceeds support It's The Journey and the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. All monies raised for breast health and breast cancer programs stay in the state of Georgia.

Oct 23 The evening book club will meet on Tuesday, October 23rd at 7pm at Cynthia Dolezal's home to discuss "The Carnegie's Maid."

Family Activities


Oct 31 Save the date for our upcoming Halloween Party! It will be held at McFarlane Park, at 5:00 pm.

We will have a magician for kids young and old to enjoy and a taco bar from Moe's. 

Following the party, all the little ghosts and goblins go to Chattahoochee Plantation for trick or treating with their families. (Candy donation info for that neighborhood to follow soon.)

Annual Neighborhood Meeting at the ACC Ballroom: Sunday, Oct 14, AT 6:30 P.M. 

This is YOUR neighborhood association. The women's club is under the same umbrella as the CPCA.  We have only one major meeting per year. Make it count--attend!!! You can hear from Bob Ott, other county officials, and members of the police about variances, zoning, security, traffic, and other key issues that affect our way of life here in CPCA.  Meet your board members and ask questions. Volunteer for committees!!!  Be INFORMED!!
