2 Day Workshop "Getting in the Game" - ITB's for SME's
November 14 - 15, 2018

The Western Canadian Defence Industry Association (WCDIA) is holding a 2 day workshop regarding Canada's Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) framework. Geared to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), Post-Secondary Institutions and Research Agencies, the series of seminars will be delivered sequentially so that organizations can build knowledge and skills to better position themselves to participate in engagement activities with prime defence contractors, some of which are managing off-set obligations in the range of several billion dollars. 

Seminar #1  will provide a basic understanding of the federal policy that ensures Canadian small business and public institutions benefit from military procurement. 
Seminar #2  will assist SMEs and public institutions develop their Value Proposition so as to harness ITB opportunities. 
Seminar #3  will provide SMEs and public institutions registered in the series with direct "hands-on" experience with a select group of prime defence contractors applying the lessons learned for "getting in the game". 

The series is a pilot for a future program and will be designed and delivered by WCDIA.

Price: $899 (+GST) for WCDIA Members / $999 (+GST) for Non-Members

The  IITSEC  (Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference) takes place  November 26-30, 2018  at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. It is the world's largest modeling, simulation, and training conference.

The newly reopened Veterans Association Food Bank is holding their 3rd annual Food for the Forces Veterans Food Drive!

The Veterans Association has taken over the operation of the food bank after the Poppy Fund announced it would be closing it's doors. The food bank is now run by veterans, for veterans.

The food drive will be held at the Walmart McKenzie Supercentre - 4705 130 Ave SE, Calgary, AB on Saturday, October 27, 2018 between 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.

In addition to the public, the association has asked for as many veterans as possible to come out and show their support for the new food bank.

100% of proceeds go to the veterans helping veterans.
