Hello

Let me start by saying GO NATS !! The Washington Nationals are leading the World Series against the Astros 2-0. What an amazing ride it has been through the regular and post season play. A win for them is great for DC and the whole metro area.

Most of America’s great cities are planned places with interconnected streets, mixed-uses, parks, public art, schools, museums, businesses and industry.  And Frederick is one of those places.  We’ve won the American Planning Association (APA) Great Places in America Award recognizing Frederick’s unique qualities.  Planning for the future is not something that happens once and is done. It is an ongoing effort that is as much art as it is science.  Downtown Frederick was laid out by Daniel Delaney in 1745 and today planners and developers are laying out new neighborhoods, business parks, and supporting infrastructure as Frederick is expected to grow to over 100,000 in coming years.

This issue of Frederick Business eNews is dedicated to learning about Frederick’s robust planning efforts and how Frederick businesses and residents can get involved.  Check it out and be involved in your community so we can sustain this places we call home.

GO NATS,
Richard G. Griffin, AICP, CEcD
Director, Economic Development
