OCTOBER  2019 E-NEWSLETTER
A Message From Our President

Welcome to October! It is officially the favorite month of everyone in my household, because we love Halloween! If you are also a fan of all things spooky, be sure to join us for our All Ages Halloween Dance Party on Saturday, October 19th! We will be dancing the night away at the Boys & Girls Club in Clairemont. Costumes are optional, but everyone will be sure to have lots of fun!

Our other big event happening this month is our 6th Annual Beers & Cheers for Autism, on Wednesday, October 23rd! You won't want to miss this fun, casual night out at Mike Hess Brewing North Park. Your ticket includes entrance to the event, dinner and dessert, four beer tastings, a souvenir glass, and more! There's a link to purchase tickets below, and all funds raised go to support our recreational programs like Camp I CAN, AWARE, and Surf Camp. We hope to see you there.

If you have enjoyed our North County Pool Parties at the Mottino YMCA in Oceanside this summer, please be aware that this month will be our final North County Pool Party for the season on Saturday, October 12th. Come enjoy one last chance to go on the waterslide, play on the splash pad, and relax in an understanding and supportive atmosphere.

Wishing you all a wonderful month and a very happy Halloween,

Amy  Munera

LOOK AHEAD TO UPCOMING EVENTS!

The Autism Society San Diego is proud to have assisted the Helen Woodward Animal Center on their development of the first inclusive day for the Frosty Farm!

There's no holiday stress here, Frosty Farm will have your whole family in good cheer! This festive event in San Diego combines hands-on animal interactions with family-friendly activities, which makes it the perfect place to create new memories.

In addition to the activities that you can do at our own pace, you will also embark on an excursion that is led by a member of our cheerful crew; this includes encounters with a variety of animals, a holiday craft that is yours to keep (or gift!), and a personal meet and greet with Santa (during which you can snap your own photo & kids will receive a gift).

December 1st is an inclusive day. This is open to the public, but please note that there may be accommodations present to support participants with special needs and our staff are committed to providing a judgment-free environment for guests and their families. Please contact us at (858) 756-4117 x 318 or  education@animalcenter.org
