Setting hearts on fire with love of God for the world!
Open Our Hearts
Dear LIS Friend,

The month of October began with celebrating the life of St. Therese of Lisieux who believed the more she focused on Jesus, the more she was able to find love in her heart for others. Her openness to letting Jesus into her heart, allowed her to release to God anything that was weighing her down. With childlike trust we too can open our hearts to God so that he can minister to our hurts.

God desires to touch the areas of our hearts that are attacking our joy, our peace and our confidence. Oftentimes when we’ve encountered heartbreak, the blockade goes up to protect our heart. Proverbs 4:23 reminds us that “above all else, guard your heart, for in it are the sources of life.” Although God is calling us to guard our hearts, we are not to block his ability to touch and heal our pain. As October is the month of the Rosary, I’ll be praying this personal devotion daily for your special intentions. My continued prayer is that we open our hearts to see ourselves the way God sees  each  of us-- valuable loveable one-of-a-kind  children on the path to holiness.

As you continue down this path, consider registering for any of our Fall offerings detailed below. Please be sure to save the date for a special Ignatian Morning on Saturday, November 23rd and look out for more information to be shared soon. As you review this month's newsletter you will also see we are featuring a  new course in April on journal writing that promises to be enjoyable and informative. Thank you for allowing LIS to accompany you along your walk in faith.

Peace and Blessings,

NEW: Journal Writing Course
At various times in our spiritual lives, it can be helpful to pause for a moment and put pen to paper so that we can reflect on our experiences by moving within ourselves and allowing whatever abides there to come forth. This process can enable a person to notice what is being carried inside. Being aware of unconscious feelings that motivate us can lead to self-knowledge, a key to ongoing growth.
