October 2019

Chamber Chat is our free monthly networking event that is held on the first Wednesday of every month at 8 am at the Candi Bar in Uptowne Galion. These are open to both members and non-chamber members and are a great opportunity to meet others from the Galion, Crawford County area and surrounding areas.

We began Chamber Chat in March of 2016 when I was a Chamber Ambassador. I have liked finding new ice breakers, speakers and activities for each month. Most of all, I have enjoyed meeting everyone and getting to know those who attend. We have had as many as 27 in attendance and have had speakers talk to us about service dogs and upcoming ballot issues. Bingo and jeopardy have been played and we have answer many assorted trivia questions. We have had multiple rounds of speed networking. It is never the same.

Often asked is the format of Chamber Chat. We begin with an introduction, icebreaker and then go over a calendar of local events. Those in attendance are welcome to share an event that their business or organization has that month. If anyone new is in attendance that month, we give them an opportunity to do a shameless plug. Typically, we take a break at 8:30 am. The second half of the event is for our speaker or activity. We usually wrap up around ten 8:50 am so those in attendance can make connections before they need to get on with their day.

Our next Chamber Chat is Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 8 am. We hope that you will add this free event to your calendar now and join us for a cup of coffee (on us) and meet others in the area. You may be surprised what you learn and the connections you make!
