News from HandsOn Sacramento and Partners
Volunteer Management Hybrid Conference (AL!VE Conference)
"The Future is Now: Tech Trends Transforming 2020 and Beyond"
SACRAMENTO – Directors of Volunteers in Agencies (DOVIA) is pleased to invite volunteer managers to the annual Volunteer Management Hybrid Conference called “The Future is Now” on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. Technology has changed the way we plan, lead and manage volunteers in a big way. New technologies on the horizon are going to bring even greater changes. What are some of the tech tools out there you can use now to leverage volunteers to their full potential? What are some pending changes that you should start preparing for today? How can you be ready to infuse technology to work smarter, not harder into the next decade and beyond?

Now in its fifth year, this collaborative event between AL!VE, Better Impact and VMPC (Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada) broadcasts a virtual presentation to remote locations in North America, including Sacramento with DOVIA Sacramento as local host.

Dana Cory Litwin, CVA will be this year’s host and moderator. Conference Speakers and their session topics include Amira Barger, CVA, CFRE (“The Big 4: How to Engage Volunteers as Triangle Supporters” Using Technology”), Liza J. Dyer, CVA (“How to Prepare Your Organization for the Robotic Workforce”), Rob Jackson, CVA (“Word of Mouth”) and Erin Spink (“Becoming a Data-Informed Volunteer Engagement Professional”).

Cost is $35, including provided lunch. Location will be at Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817. Payment can be made online (credit cards through PayPal) or at the door (cash or check payments only). DOVIA Sacramento has a mini-site for conference attendees that includes information on hotel accommodations, transportation options and other useful information about getting around Sacramento. To visit the mini-site and to register for the conference, please visit: www.doviasacramento.org.

The Volunteer Management Hybrid Conference is a whole day event that will last from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Anyone who coordinates volunteers (whether paid or unpaid) is welcome to attend.

DOVIA (Directors of Volunteers in Agencies) of Sacramento provides a forum for exchange of information on relevant issues facing professional volunteer managers. Through collaborative efforts, DOVIA is committed to promoting services and emphasizing professional growth and development of the volunteer administration profession. DOVIA Sacramento hosts monthly luncheons featuring relevant topics in the field and semi-annual training seminars

For more information, visit www.doviasacramento.org . For more information about the Volunteer Management Hybrid Conference, contact Elena Schwed, DOVIA Training Chair, at [email protected] and Mika Guevarra, DOVIA Marketing Chair, at [email protected] .
