How to Throw a Chinese Thanksgiving
"Step one: Buy a regular, good ol' American turkey.

Step two: Roast turkey, with modifications veering towards the Chinese way. That is, rub the bird with five spice powder, or Sichuan peppercorns..."

For this month's newsletter intro we let the food do the talking, which is appropriate for both Thanksgiving *and* Chinese culture in general.

The photo and quote above come from a SeriousEats.com post by Chichi Wang. Click on the hyperlink for her guidance on how to have a Thanksgiving dinner with a different flavor profile.

Fun fact: On October 27, 1910, a consortium of US banks led by JP Morgan loaned $50M to the Qing government to be used for currency reform and economic development in Manchuria. This loan was meant to balance actions by Japan and countries in Europe. Fifty million 1910 dollars would be about $1.37 billion in 2020.

Back in March, Jason Manganaro, VP of Sales at the Columbus office of SPARX Logistics, was quoted in the Columbus Dispatch as saying, "I think the worst [of the pandemic] is yet to come, unfortunately. We’ll see the effects of this for months." Don't you hate it when you're right?

Throughout the pandemic, SPARX has been working hard to make sure customers' shipments to and from Asia arrive in a timely manner.
