LIVE BOSTON CLASSROOM

Through a campaign entitled “Live Boston Classroom,” the Bureau will be connecting its hotel partners to members in the museum, tour/attraction, culinary and cultural realm to create educational packages.  These packages will be enticing for visitors, particularly families, who are looking to get away while seeking out experiential and educational opportunities. Details are still being finalized. You will be hearing much more from us soon on this "subject."

GBCVB UNVEILS RENOVATED VISITOR INFORMATION CENTER

City officials and visitor industry leaders gathered at the Boston Common Visitor Information Center (VIC) on Wednesday, September 30 to celebrate the reopening and renovation of the Center. The VIC is located at the beginning of Boston’s iconic Freedom Trail and is operated by the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GBCVB) in partnership with the City of Boston and the Boston Park Rangers. “The Visitor Center on historic Boston Common functions as a critical gateway for visitors as they begin their Boston experience,” said GBCVB President & CEO Martha J. Sheridan. “We are very proud of the work being done there by our dedicated staff, and the recent improvements dramatically enhance the visitor experience. Under the leadership of GBCVB Executive Vice President Hilina Ajakaiye and our Vice President of Leisure Destination Services Diane Dinunzio, we were able to pursue a new vision for that space and realize it.” Continue Reading...

Cultural Facilities Fund

We want to make sure our members are aware of the Cultural Facilities Fund. The Fund is co-managed by MassDevelopment and the MA Cultural Council and we encourage our members to apply.  The Fund provides major improvement grants to non-profit cultural organizations and the first deadline coming up is November 13. For those members planning to pursue grant funds, please let us know if we can help with a letter of support.  Please review the application process.

The Bureau has launched a dedicated Landing Page for the #MyLocalMA campaign. We are directly engaged with Chambers of Commerce and other small business development and advocacy entities throughout our Regional Tourism Council to create content for this page. The page includes an image gallery, events carousel, blog section, and links to every Chamber in our region. We are excited to be collaborating directly with the 45 cities and towns that comprise our region. Once this page is fleshed out a bit more we will leverage our platforms, notably via social media campaigns, to reach a broad audience and inspire local and regional residents to concentrate the investment of their dollars into their communities.

Boston Safe & Strong Pledge

We’ve partnered with the City of Boston and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce to devise a “Boston Safe & Strong” pledge. This pledge is a commitment to the public health measures that are proven to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Let's make #bostonsafeandstrong together.
