October 2020
FROM THE DIRECTOR

Fall is such a special time at All Saints School. The Outdoor Classroom will soon fill with pumpkins, and our Little Saints are settling into a comfortable school routine. Children arrive and eagerly greet each other with smiles and hugs. The teachers are bonding with the children and centering their curriculum and instruction around the interests and abilities of their individual students.

You may have noticed that your child now has a favorite activity or area in the classroom and is more comfortable separating from you in the morning. Life is good!

Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up on Friday, October 23 and Monday, October 26. Good communication between home and school is crucial for a positive school experience. Our teachers are looking forward to sharing their observations with you and are equally interested in hearing from you about your child. The teachers have been observing the children, making anecdotal notes, and collecting a few items for individual portfolios. They will also fill out an assessment, which will help them to focus their instruction and identify areas for development. Be on the lookout for a SignUpGenius in the coming weeks; some classes will be offering conferences in person in the classroom and others will be scheduling Zoom conferences. All classes will be closed both conference days, and childcare will not be offered during your conference time.

Though I am not able to see and greet each of you during arrival and dismissal, please know that I am here and available for a phone call or meeting at any time. Visiting the classrooms and witnessing the loving, nurturing, playful interactions taking place is the absolute highlight of my days. Thank you for sharing your precious little ones with us!

With Love,
Emory Messeroff

TRUNK-OR-TREAT 2020

In lieu of All Saints' Fall Festival this year, the PTO will host a Trunk-or-Treat event for our Little Saints on the morning of Thursday, October 29th in the school parking lot. Teachers will provide more information regarding costumes and/or attire to each class as the event approaches.

Note: Students who do not attend school on Thursdays and wish to participate can contact the office. This is a student-only event except for volunteers.

Volunteers Needed!  If you are interested in hosting a trunk for the event, please contact Priscilla Kunkel at [email protected] for more details or look for a SignUp Genius coming soon! Volunteers will be required to wear a mask during the event. Trunks can be set up starting at 9:15 AM on the morning of the event.

Candy Donations Needed! Donations can be dropped with staff during carline starting Thursday, October 1st.
DONATIONS NEEDED
Pumpkins: Throughout the month of October, we are accepting pumpkin donations (any size, any quantity) for Outdoor Classroom play and exploration. Deliver through car line during drop-off or pick up.
Lysol Disinfecting Spray: If any families come across cans of Lysol Disinfecting Spray, please consider donating some to the school. We would greatly appreciate it! They have been very hard to find, and our school uses them on a daily basis. Thank you so much!
