Dear Valued Customer,
As the last quarter of 2020 begins, the Clackamas Water Environment Services (WES) team continues to adjust and work through the pandemic, recent wildfires and other challenges to ensure that you, our valued customers, receive the services you depend on every day of the year.
WES employees continue to practice COVID-19 safety guidelines while maintaining our 24/7 operations for you. WES also remains focused on long-term projects designed to ensure that the wastewater treatment needs of our more than 190,000 customers are met for decades to come.
One of these projects is the Tri-City Solids Project, which just marked a major milestone. The new 1.3 million gallon digester was brought online at our Tri-City Water Resource Recovery facility in Oregon City. This project supports WES’ mission to protect public health, our shared environment, and the economy, as WES expands its capacity to accommodate the needs of a rapidly growing population.
Our commitment to building a strong infrastructure for our communities includes our newly-strengthened 82nd Drive Pedestrian Bridge, which re-opened after being seismically-retrofitted to withstand a magnitude 9.0 earthquake. The upgrades include new sewer pipes and additional protections for pipes and utility lines on the bridge.
2020 continues to be an eventful, challenging year for all of us, but we are getting through it together. Our approach to serving you in 2021 will be no different, as we are fully prepared to meet any and all future obstacles head-on to provide the services you depend on every day.
Please continue to follow all safety recommendations to protect yourself and your loved ones.
From the WES family to yours, we wish you a safe and happy holiday season.
Sincerely,
Greg Geist, WES Director
