Greetings!
Food insecurity continues to rise at record levels during the pandemic. River City Food Bank is serving nearly 20,000 people each month, a number we never anticipated reaching. As the pandemic stretches on, the need for our services is growing.
Recently, I met Ruby and her two-year old son. She is unemployed but her husband works full time. His salary helps but does not cover all of the bills. When they do not have enough to purchase groceries, Ruby comes to the Food Bank so that she can provide healthy meals for her family. Following her recent visit she said, “More than anything, I appreciate not being judged. I can come here, get what I need and know that people are here to help.”
River City Food Bank has always operated with a philosophy that no one should be hungry. With your generosity, we welcome Ruby and any family experiencing hunger with dignity, compassion and respect.
COVID-19 has created unprecedented need for food assistance and I am thankful for your help to serve our neighbors. We could not do it without your amazing support!
