Long Beach Unified School District
Long Beach Unified School District is offering grab-and-go breakfast, lunch, snack and supper on school days, free of charge! Meals are available to all children ages one to 18, enrollment is not required. Effective October 19, 2020, two days' worth of meals will be offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Children must be present to pick up meals. If a child is not present to pick up meals, a parent/guardian must bring one of the following documents to pick up meals for children:

  • LBUSD student ID
  • Any student ID issued by any agency
  • Tax Return
  • Birth Certificate
  • Benefit issuance letter showing child is part of the adult's household
  • Meal Eligibility Letter from any school district
  • Benefit Issuance document from Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
  • Any official document showing children are part of the adult's household

LBUSD Nutrition Services employees are expected to ask for the acceptable documents daily, even if the parent/guardian has been visiting the same location.
El Distrito Escolar Unificado de Long Beach ofrece desayuno, almuerzo, merienda y cena para llevar en los días escolares, ¡sin cargo! Las comidas están disponibles para todos los niños de 1 a 18 años, no se requiere inscripción. A partir del 19 de octubre de 2020, se ofrecerán comidas para dos días los lunes, miércoles y viernes de 11 a.m. a 1 p.m.

The Fall Small Sparks Grant is a project sponsored by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles’ Neighborhood Revitalization Program. The purpose of this program is to safely spark connection, community and action during these unprecedented times. Through an award of 6 grants up to $300, these resident-led projects will help spark connection, information, joy, and awareness of the various festivities that surround the Washington Neighborhood residents.
El programa de becas pequeñas para el otoño Small Sparks es un proyecto patrocinado por el Programa de Revitalización de Vecindarios de Habitat for Humanity, Greater Los Angeles. El propósito de este programa es despertar la conexión, la comunidad y la acción durante estos tiempos sin precedentes. Por medio de premiar 6 becas de hasta $300, estos proyectos dirigidos por residentes ayudarán a conectar, informar, traer alegría, educar, proveer esperanza e iluminar varias festividades alrededor de los residentes de Washington.

Long Beach Parques, Recreación, y Marina de Long Beach (Parks, Recreation and Marine - PRM) ofrece otra opción segura para las actividades extracurriculares y la interacción social. El nuevo programa virtual extraescolar, para jóvenes de 5 a 14 años, estará disponible de lunes a viernes a partir de las 3 p.m. a las 6 p.m., del 19 de octubre al 18 de diciembre.
Halloween activities that are allowed, include:

  • Online parties/contests (e.g., costume or pumpkin carving).
  • Car parades, such as drive-by events or contests.
  • Halloween movie nights at drive-in theaters. 
  • Halloween-themed meals at outdoor restaurants. 
  • Halloween-themed art installations at outdoor museums.
  • Dressing up homes and yards with Halloween themed decorations.
Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is offering another safe option for after-school activities and social interaction. The new virtual out-of-school program, for youth ages 5 to 14, will be available weekdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Oct. 19 through Dec. 18

Go Long Beach is designed to provide Long Beach, CA residents, businesses and visitors the opportunity to access City Hall, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week from anywhere. You will be able to submit service requests for issues such as graffiti, potholes, and sign damage. Select your issue and attach a picture to interact directly with your City.
