Campaign Update | October 2020
Campaign Spotlight: CACI
The Children’s Science Center is thankful for the generous support of CACI. As one of our newest champions, CACI is helping to ensure both our mission today and vision for tomorrow with support for virtual programming and the Launch the Future campaign to build Northern Virginia’s science center. We are excited to welcome CACI and to build a meaningful partnership that will help inspire a love of learning STEM in children and families throughout our region.

For more than 58 years, CACI’s enterprise and mission expertise and technology have played a vital role in national security missions and government transformation for defense, intelligence, and civilian customers. CACI generously supports numerous charitable programs and initiatives in the Northern Virginia region and across the country, and seeks opportunities to invest in the next generation of innovators.

Thank you, CACI, for being a champion of STEM learning! We are especially grateful for your support of our virtual learning initiatives during these unprecedented times and your confidence in our vision to build a world-class science center here in Northern Virginia. We look forward to working together to inspire a love of STEM learning in children today, who will become tomorrow’s innovators.

Thank you, CACI, for your commitment to Northern Virginia's science center,
solidifying the region's status as the nexus for STEM innovation and serving
the children, students, and families of Northern Virginia for generations.
Thank you to our Pivotal Partners!
Science Rooted in Nature at Kincora
In December 2019, Loudoun County approved a 230-acre park at the crossroads of Routes 7 and 28. This park adds 70 acres to adjoin the 160 acres of parkland at Kincora - the future home of Northern Virginia's science center. This immense park enables the science center to provide extraordinary hands-on learning experiences with world-class indoor exhibits interconnected with a dynamic, outdoor natural environment.

The park will feature a network of both paved and natural surface paths winding through old-growth hardwoods and evergreens, perfect for avid runners, bikers, hikers, and explorers of all ages. Its proposed name, Blue Heron Park, reflects the area's claim to one of the Mid-Atlantic's largest heron habitats, housing 50-60 nests every year.

These serene natural settings will be just steps away from vibrant dining, retail, and cultural institutions - including Northern Virginia's science center. We look forward to utilizing the trails and natural environments during field trips, camps and other programs to inspire visitors of all ages to be environmental stewards and see that science truly is everywhere.

Thank you, Kincora, for striving to be
Loudoun County's "most diverse,
nature-focused community!"
