Weston Calendar to Support Wilder Memorial Library

The Wilder Memorial Library is raising money for its operating expenses with the sale of a beautiful 2022 calendar featuring the exquisite photography of Weston resident Mark Martins and a collaboration of volunteers from the Library.

Stop by the library to purchase calendars, order them by contacting the library, or you can find them for sale at the Weston Village Store and the Vermont Country Store.  

• Price: $17.95 (that’s the calendar price at the library + local shops in Weston … mail order prices are a wee bit higher to account for shipping).

Trunk or Treat in South Londonderry - Trunk or Treating has returned to South Londonderry! Masks strongly suggested for those unvaccinated and encouraged for everyone. Free food will be available. The only change for this year's event will be no haunted firehouse and no inside access to the firehouse. 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

"1800 and Froze to Death" – 1816 has long been known as the year without summer. Vermonters still call it “1800 and Froze to Death,” a year of frosts every month, dark skies, and mysterious lights that caused a widespread belief that a higher power was displeased. This talk includes scores of anecdotes about the dark year of failed crops, scarce food, and religious revival. The horrible weather also came in the aftermath of the War of 1812, which produced shortages and an economic crisis. Enjoy this fascinating lecture a lecture with Howard Coffin, presented by the Landgrove Historical Society at the town hall located at 88 Landgrove Road in Landgrove. No charge. VSO: Jukebox - A program by the Vermont Symphony Orchestra's Jukebox Quartet (violinists Letitia Quante and Brooke Quiggins, violist Stefanie Taylor, and cellist John Dunlop) as they strut their stuff with an eclectic mix of contemporary and classical repertoire presented in an informal format. 7:00 pm at WALKER FARM in Weston. OMS Ski & Snowboard Swap - The Annual Okemo Ski and Snowboard Swap to benefit Okemo Mountain School is the place to gear up for the winter with new and used gear at great prices. You will find everything you need to get out on the hill this season….skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, helmets, goggles, outerwear, and more! Bird Walk - The public is welcome to join a local birding group to conduct a survey of the wild birds present on the grounds of Hildene. The purpose of the walks is to gather long-term data on the presence of birds, their abundance, and changes in populations. Observations are entered into the (Vermont) eBird database where data is stored by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology for free access and international public use. Meet in the Welcome Center parking lot, 8:00am. Participants are asked to wear a mask (in the case of shared transportation) and practice social distancing. Free.
