Missionary's Musing How to Know if You’re Caring Well

A week ago in Nashville, TN, the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention met to discuss, among other things, following up on an investigation of itself that had been mandated by messengers at the SBC Annual Meeting earlier this year. The investigation centered on the Executive Committee's handling of cases of sexual abuse that had occurred in SBC Churches over a period of 20 years. A motion was passed by the more than 15,000 messengers who had convened to give expression to the collective will of the more than 40,000 SBC churches. More....click

►First Baptist Springfield hosts the Nelons in concert on Saturday, 10/2/21, at 7pm. Free admission, love offering only. Come for some great music!   ►Rocky Ford Baptist Church will host a Fall Festival at the Mock Field on October 9th from 4:30-7pm with games, cakewalks, trunk or treat, chili cook-off, bounce houses and slides, costume contest, food, a message and FUN for ALL!    ►Turkey Branch Baptist Church will host a concert with Headin’Home Bluegrass on October 10th at 7pm. All are welcome to come enjoy!   ►Hiltonia Baptist Church Centennial Celebration has been is October 10th. Roger Alford, editor of the Christian Index and former VP of the International Mission Board, will be the guest speaker. A catered lunch will follow. Join them and celebrate 101 years of faith, family and fellowship. On October 11-13 they will have Revival Services with Rev. Travis Smith preaching each night at 7pm. Special music each night. Come & Worship!   ►Little Horse Creek Baptist Church will host The Old Paths in concert on October 22nd at 7pm. All invited for some great Southern Gospel music. Join them on October 24th at 10:30am for Friends and Family Day. Rev. Jim Butler (LaGrange) will be preaching the message and a covered dish (meat provided) lunch will follow.     ►Oak Hill Baptist Church will have a Fall Festival on October 24th from 5-8 with hay rides, a chili cook-off, trunk or treat and more! Fun for the family!   ►Bay Branch Baptist Church is preparing for a fall concert on October 31st with the band, Southern Raised, coming for a 6pm concert. Great young instrumentalist and vocalists. Join them!!! Rev. Dannie Williams (FBC Lyons) will preach Revival Services on Monday thru Wednesday nights, November 1-3. Come and be REVIVED!   ►Friendship Baptist Church, Jackson Baptist Church, McBride Methodist and 1st Christian Church are having joint Youth Services on Sunday nights at 6:30pm & food follows.
