Hello friends, I hope you are all enjoying the fall weather that is starting to arrive here in our beautiful area. The leaves are turning and falling, and the crisp cool air is bracing and refreshing.
Fall always brings beautiful colors, delicious tastes, and intoxicating smells to the area as well as unique events and happenings. While we still don’t have our return to normal that we were hoping for, we are starting to see more and more events popping up around the community.
Please consider joining our Ambassador Committee and meet with us on October 22nd beginning at 8:00am. Please check the Chamber events calendar for information on the meetings. The Ambassadors play an important part in spreading the Chamber and their mission throughout the community, and we always love to see new faces at our meetings.
The Chamber is happy to invite you all to another business after hours at Emerge Wealth Strategies on October 27th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at their office in Lisle. Full information can be found on the chamber website.
Consider joining the Illinois Chamber and the Lisle Area Chamber on November 5th from 8:30am – 1:30pm at Elements at Water Street in Naperville for the 2021 Women in Business Conference. Registration is available on the chamber website and required for the event.
As always, all of us at the Chamber want to thank you all for your continued partnership throughout these trying times. Rest assured that your Chamber is still working nonstop to promote business and growth throughout our community and working tirelessly to plan events and fundraisers for the 2022 calendar year.
We hope to see you all throughout the community in the upcoming months, and encourage you to get out, get active in the community and join us at an Ambassadors Meeting, Business after Hours, or any other event offered.

Thank you Lisle Eyes to the Skies Committee for the heartfelt love of the community. The volunteer hours you all put forth all year was certainly appreciated. Eyes to the Skies was always the event of the year in Lisle. It put Lisle on the map. We at the Chamber received so many calls about the event, housing, balloons, restaurants, shopping and event information from all over the country. This event supported our local businesses and it will truly be missed. The Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank you for including us in the proceeds through volunteer hours which helped support our high school scholarships given out every year.
We will be sending out ballots for your 2022 Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors this month. Please vote and return the ballots back to the Chamber.

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Paula Gleason
JCMP & Associates, P.C.
Paula Gleason is the Marketing Manager for the CPA firm of JCMP & Associates. She is an eighteen-year member of the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce, past Treasurer and Chair of the Chamber's Board of Directors. She is the Chair of the Ambassador Committee and Dinner Dance Committee. She is the Government Affairs Committee Secretary and serves on the Ale Fest, Golf, LINCT and Lisle Uncorked Committees.
Paula serves on the Village of Lisle Special Events and Lights of Lisle Committees. She also serves on the West Suburban Community Pantry Advisory Board, is a Pantry volunteer and has Chaired the annual Chef's Culinary Challenge/Silent Auction Fundraiser for eight years. As a 30-year resident of Green Trails, Paula has served as the Recording Secretary for the Green Trails Improvement Association Board of Directors for 20 years and contributes monthly articles to their newsletter. Paula is a 15-year Bensidoun USA Supervisor of the outdoor French Market in Lisle. She is a DuPage County Judge of Election and also serves as a volunteer at the College of DuPage McAninch Arts Center.
Paula enjoys time with her son in Los Angeles, her daughter, son-in-law and three active teen-age grandchildren in Lisle. She also collects unusual menus and wearing hats and she enjoys the arts. Her favorite bit of wisdom is: "Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there". Paula is determined to be a goodwill representative of the Chamber and in that regard she is visible at most Chamber functions - she's the one wearing a hat!

The Secretary of State Mobile Unit will be in the Village Board Room on Thursday, October 14, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Representatives will follow all health and safety COVID-19 protocol, as advised by the State of Illinois, and will assist residents with a number of services, including having a driver's license duplicated, corrected or renewed, and obtaining a state ID card or registering for the Motor Voter or Organ Donor programs with the renewal of a driver's license or state ID card. Residents can also renew vehicle stickers (including B-truck plates) and receive vision screenings. However, CDL licenses, written exams and road tests will not be available. As a reminder, SOS Mobile Units do not offer the REAL ID service, and that service must be completed at a standard facility.
Required documentation for participation includes a Social Security card and two additional forms of ID that provide name, date of birth, residency and a signature. Copies will not be accepted. There is no charge for state ID cards for seniors 65+ years; seniors 75+ years are required to visit the Department of Motor Vehicles to renew a driver's license. Acceptable forms of payment include personal checks, cashier’s checks, major credit cards and debit cards. Cash will not be accepted.
