Downtown Event Center & Plaza Grand Opening Celebration!
Join the City of Fremont for an outdoor community event to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of the Downtown Event Center & Plaza on Friday, October 8 from 4:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

The Downtown Event Center & Plaza consists of a 13,400-square-foot community center and one-acre plaza located on the corner of Capitol Avenue and State Street. The space includes three meeting rooms varying in size from approximately 4,100 square feet to 1,200 square feet, a catering kitchen, restroom facilities, a large welcoming lobby/gathering space of 2,900 square feet, and an outdoor plaza and patio.

There will be live music, Fremont Street Eats, and guided event center tours. One food voucher offered per person for the first 400 attendees

Tiny Tots Preschool Program
New Session Starts November 7
Teacher Vicki’s class at Centerville Community Center celebrated the beginning of the Fall season with a variety of fun activities. These activities involved several skills the children were able to incorporate such as fine motor, cause and effect, language development, science observation, math concepts, color recognition and use of our five senses.

Youth Basketball League
The Youth Basketball League is back and better than ever! Come join City staff as they teach fundamentals, teamwork, and good sportsmanship! The first two weeks of “gamedays” will be hour-long introductory practices, and the remaining seven weeks will be games. All games will be held on Saturday’s at the Irvington Community Center.
Thanksgiving & Winter Break Camps
Thanksgiving & Winter Break is just around the corner and our team is planning a safe and fun camp experience. Camps themes include: academic enrichment, art & cooking, sports, traditional, and more!

New to this year, payment plans are now available when registering online for Thanksgiving & Winter Break Camps. Payments are split into 2 easy payments: 1st upon registration, 2nd November 1st. Please note: a credit/debit card is required. 
Lila Bringhurst Community Park
The City of Fremont hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate Fremont’s 62nd park, Lila Bringhurst Community Park, on September 18, 2021. 

Park amenities include multi-use field, outdoor classroom/amphitheater, basketball courts, sheltered picnic tables, play areas, restrooms, parking lot, and more. 

The park is a compact urban solution to meet a community park amenity for area residents and elegantly blends City public park development standards with State school yard requirements creating a facility that meets both needs. The park sits at the center of the new Fremont Innovation District, which is a residential and commercial center. Residents will be able to walk through the park and then through adjacent linear plazas to access the new Warm Springs/South Fremont BART station through an iconic pedestrian bridge, the West Access Bridge, scheduled to open this fall.
