Yankee Dahlia Society Bloom Exhibit Saturday October 1, 10 am to 5 pm, Sunday, October 2, 2 pm to 5 pm, Main Library

Blooms on Display!

Come and join in the fun as the Westwood Public Library and Yankee Dahlia Society (YDS) present a free public dahlia exhibit. See hundreds of dahlia blooms on display, of all colors, forms, and sizes from dinner plate to dainty.

Saturday, October 1


10 am - 12 pm: Staging Blooms & Set-Up*


12 pm - 5 pm: Dahlia Exhibit Open for Viewing


3 pm: Presentation: Beautiful Bouquets with Dahlias from your Garden

Sunday, October 2


2 pm - 5 pm: Dahlia Exhibit Open for Viewing


3 pm: Presentation: The Joy of Growing Dahlias in New England

*You're invited to bring your dahlia blooms to display! To participate, drop off your dahlias at the Main Library before noon on Saturday, October 1. Vases will be supplied by Yankee Dahlia Society.

October 11-12: Parking Lot Paving


The Main Library will be closed due to Parking Lot Paving on Tuesday, October 11 and Wednesday, October 12. The Main Library will reopen on Thursday, October 13 at 10 am.


The Islington Branch will be open its regular hours: Tuesday, 10 am to 6 pm and Wednesday, 10 am to 8 pm. Items may be returned to the Branch while the Main Library is closed. 


We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. Both the Main Library and Islington Branch will be closed on Monday, October 10.

Visit the 2nd floor of the Main Library to write a card to a friend or family member. Drop your card in our mailbox, and the library will add a postage stamp and mail your card for you!

National Friends of Libraries Week Oct. 16-22, 2022

The Friends of the Westwood Library provides funds for library programs not covered by the existing town budget. The Friends is funded through the generous donations of the Westwood community as well as through the annual book sale — the next book sale is scheduled for Saturday, November 5 at the Main Library!
