SMALL GESTURE LEADS TO BIG SUCCESS
In honor of his birthday month, here is a wonderful success story shared by Mark Medole:
10 years ago, somebody had recommended I dine at a restaurant up in Lockport called Cammarata’s. My wife and I went in for dinner and as we approached the entrance- there was a sign indicating that the Lockport Lions Club meets there for their weekly meetings. This got my interest as I was and still am a Clarence Lions club member.

Owner Bob Cammarata came over to the table to see how our diners were at that point I introduced myself as a fellow lion’s club member and only to find out he was the president of the Lockport club at that time. With Both of us being Lions Members and both of us having a strong restaurant background- the connection was instant. I advised Bob at the time that I smartened up many years ago and got out of the hospitality industry and now was into Insurance. Several weeks after that encounter- Bob had called me and said “ Hey Mark, I enjoy doing business with people I like, and its a bonus if they understand my business. Can you come out to the restaurant and grab my insurance stuff to see what you can do for me.”

Went to the restaurant to pick up the paperwork; upon entering the icy, snow-covered sidewalk to get to the restaurant door - I noticed a beat-up old shovel leaning against the wall. Walked in and met Bob to obtain the info - I commented that maybe it’s time for a new shovel as slips and falls are big risks at restaurants - he advised me that he needed to get a new one. I left the restaurant, went to the hardware store, and purchased Bob a new shovel (he had no idea I was doing this).

I came back to the restaurant and shoveled the icy walk with the new shovel I had purchased for him. When I was done, I put the shovel in the restaurant coat room with my business card attached to it and left (Bob still had no idea I got him a shovel and shoveled for him)

The next day- I got a call from Bob, and he couldn’t thank me enough. 30 days later I wrote his business insurance package and have been doing so for ten years. Bob and I have grown to be great friends and strong advocates for each of our respective businesses. I believe our relationship would never have materialized without my Lions Club Community involvement
MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT JOE FLOSS
“Let us not take ourselves too seriously. None of us has a monopoly on wisdom, and we must always be ready to listen and respect other points of view” - Queen Elizabeth II

The life of Queen Elizabeth II was remarkable. She was the longest reigning monarch in history upon her death Sept 82022 at age 96. She also holds the distinction of being the fourth longest reigning monarch of all time having spent 70 years on the throne!

In 1945, at the age of 18 and (before she became Queen), Elizabeth joined the women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service – a branch of the British Army. Believe it or not, she was trained as a truck driver and mechanic!

An Incredible woman and legacy!

Her quote above resonated with me as I have always said that in the insurance industry there is not one of us that knows it All. That is simply impossible!

Please remember, it is ok to be vulnerable and ask for help on any topic! The great thing about our agency is that we do have experts in so many areas available to assist you. And of course, it is expected that you speak up and be heard should you have questions or suggestions on how we might improve our efficiency or any process’ we currently have in place.

The owners and management team are always eager to learn from you!
