COJ Strategic Partnerships Update

City of Jacksonville's Investments

in Housing, Homelessness & Healthcare

In case you missed it, the City of Jacksonville announced the release of the Community Goals Framework in last month's Nonprofit Gateway e-newsletter. This framework was developed by the Strategic Partnerships Steering Committee to ensure the alignment of public, private and philanthropic investments and to create a common language all sectors can use to define their investments.

These goals are based off national and state models used by municipalities, national philanthropic organizations and state associations, and it represents all community impact areas.

Recently, Mayor Curry's administration made presentations on the City's investments within the areas of Affordable/Workforce Housing, Homelessness and Access to Healthcare in City Council's Special Committee On Critical Quality Of Life Issues three working groups.

2022/2023 Neighborhood Matching Grant

The 2022/2023 Neighborhood Matching Grant Application is now open. The application deadline will be at 5:00pm on Monday, December 12th, 2022. The Neighborhoods Department will be offering two workshops on November 15th at 2:00pm and 6:00pm to assist potential applicants with the application process. FSCJ Laptop & Hotspot Borrowing

The Jacksonville Public Library and Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) have partnered to provide free laptop and/or hotspot rentals for use throughout a full academic term. To qualify, you must be a student currently enrolled at FSCJ and have an active Jacksonville Public Library card. Click below to learn more.

Blue Zones Project Jacksonville

Meet & Exchange

Blue Zones Project Jacksonville will be hosting a meet & exchange event on November 10th at 6:30pm at the Northside YMCA located at 5700 Cleveland Road, 32209. DFD's Education & Training Series: Opioid

Overdose & Narcan Administration

Please join Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) and Drug Free Duval (DFD) for a free online training about signs of overdose, and how to administer the opioid overdose reversal drug, Narcan. Residents of Duval County will receive a free Narcan kit, but anyone can join the training.

This training will be offered twice a month at 12:00 or 2:00pm and it is a part of Drug Free Duval's Education and Training Series: Opioid Overdose & Narcan Administration.
