Cooking and Baking
Cooler temperatures outside set the mood for kitchen-warming activities inside. Expand your recipe collection and enjoy a bite to eat with our upcoming cooking and baking classes and tours.

This week, on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 10:30 am in a private home in Scarsdale, Tastes of Fall (11546) will give students an opportunity to make kale and squash soup and a flatbread seasoned with rosemary and sage under the guidance of new instructor Renana Shvil. When done, all will sit down for an enjoyable meal together. Sign up with a friend or come alone and make some new ones.

Cookie Decorating (11532) is the skill to be mastered on Monday, October 24, 2022. Please note that the class time has shifted by 1 hour and will now begin at 2 pm. Class will be taught by new instructor Elizabeth Lavigna, the head baker at Cherry Lawn Farm.

On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, get an intimate, behind-the-scenes view of Stone Barns Center with a one-hour in-depth tour, and then enjoy a lunch in the hay barn provided by Blue Hill Café. The meal to be savored at Walking Tour and Taste of Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, NY (11528) will feature ingredients introduced during the tour.

Stroll through another working farm in Westchester just after Halloween during Walking Tour and Farm-to-Table Cooking Demonstration: Fable Farm in Ossining, NY (11524) on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 11 am. Following the exploration of the grounds, students will be treated to a cooking demonstration featuring quinoa, kale and squash salad, and sweet potato patties with sour cream and chive dip (menu subject to change).

Scheduling Changes
The following classes have changes to their previously announced meeting schedule. Email notices have been sent to all students registered in these courses.

Let's Play Mah Jongg: Beginner Series (11315), Let's Play Mah Jongg: Supervised Play (11317), and Painting with Collage (11441) will not meet on Monday, October 17, 2022. The make-up date for both mah jongg classes will be Monday, November 14, 2022, and the make-up date for the painting class will be Monday, November 21, 2022.

The class time for Cookie Decorating (11532) has been shifted one hour later and will now meet from 2 pm to 3:30 pm on Monday, October 24, 2022.

The start date for Let's Play Mah Jongg: Supervised Play (11318) has been postponed until Monday, November 21, 2022 and will meet for four weeks instead of five. The start date for Paint the Seasons in Watercolor and Gouache (11442) has been postponed until Monday, November 28, 2022, and will meet for three weeks instead of four. Prices for both courses have been adjusted.
