Meals From The Farm

Saskatchewan farmers produce a wide variety of safe, high-quality foods that feed Canadians and the rest of the world. But while it’s not in their nature to crow about such things, Saskatchewan farmers also give back to the community by helping organizations who help those in need.

Today, less than 3% of Canadians have a direct link to the farm. It’s not surprising that people have so many questions about food and farming.

We are looking for like-minded organizations, associations and businesses to support us in our efforts to build consumer trust and ensure a sustainable future for agriculture.

If you are an individual or family farm who would like to show visible support for the efforts to build public trust in Saskatchewan agriculture and would like to join a community of supportive individuals and organizations who are making a pro-active effort to ensure a sustainable future for our industry, please consider a $500 Friend Membership.

How Does Regenerative Agriculture Work?

Agriculture is continually evolving and will continue to meet the needs of a changing world. Regenerative agriculture is just one strategy that farmers are using.

Farming Across Generations

Farming often means doing many things at once. Historically, this was the main reason two or more generations of a family would work together.

This year’s #CelebrateAg Month theme is #MealsFromtheFarm. It builds on an earlier project of Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan and Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan in which we were able to provide Saskatchewan-made lunches to almost 2000 students in Yorkton, Lloydminster, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon. We want to keep the energy going by extending this theme through Agriculture Month in October!

Our Meals From the Farm theme is all about:

  • Celebrating the great food produced by Saskatchewan farmers.
  • Highlighting the meals shared out in the field at harvest time.
  • Showcasing community fall suppers featuring locally grown foods.
  • Supporting meals in your community through support for organizations such as food banks, soup kitchens and other community organizations.
