THE EARLY YEARS

Ken Barr grew up on the family farm in northern California. He began hunting at an early age for Feral Hogs, Blacktail Deer, and small game. After graduating from the University of California – Davis, he took a job at a large ag bank and followed that with his own family farm business. In 1991, he went on his first international sheep hunt and immediately contracted sheep fever.

Between 1997 and 1998, Ken took 12 different species of Wild Sheep in a single 12-month period! Since then he has hunted in 52 countries and on all six hunting continents.

Ken enjoys hunting Sheep because of the mental and physical challenges, Elephants because of the tracking and the chase, and his favorite of all is hunting Coues Deer in Mexico because “it’s kind of like Sheep hunting, but without ALL the pain.”
