Dear Friends of CAPC:
October is National SIDS Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Depression and Mental Health Awareness Month. One of CAPC’s longest-serving efforts to support families is our Surviving Parenthood Resource Directory. First published in 1986, Surviving Parenthood is a unique reference guide for supportive community services. Kids don’t come with an instruction manual; we all need a little help at times figuring out just what to do. Surviving Parenthood offers that help, right at your fingertips. Need to locate affordable housing services – it’s in Surviving Parenthood. Need mental health services for your family – you will find counseling services in Surviving Parenthood. Need legal services, childcare, parental support opportunities, LGBTQ services – all in Surviving Parenthood. This community resource is available at no cost and it is available in Spanish. To look up Surviving Parenthood online click on the CAPC website www.capc-coco.org.

Surviving Parenthood is a unique and valuable resource in your parenting toolkit. Surviving Parenthood serves families with children of all ages. It is a comprehensive catalog of local services designed to help families connect with resources that can offer help and support in times of need.

Happy Halloween!

The giving season is just around the corner! Celebrating the holidays can be a stressful and challenging time. To support local families in need during the holiday season, CAPC is collecting food gift cards, Target gift cards or Amazon gift cards. If you would like to donate please contact Carol Carrillo, at [email protected].

Log on to your Amazon Smile during the upcoming holidays. Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice. Same products, same prices, same service. Support Child Abuse Prevention Council by starting your shopping at smile. Amazon.com.

Everyone loves a good scare on Halloween, but not when it comes to child safety. There are several easy and effective ways that parents can share with kids to help reduce their risk of injury.
