The images above come from NM IPL's recent immersion retreat on colonization and extractivism with the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. It is so important that we continue to deepen our understanding and transformation of these legacies of harm and we are grateful that in October we get to celebrate our native siblings. There are many opportunities to honor this day, including an Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration through the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center.

The Interfaith Hunger Coalition has commemorated World Food Day every year (in some form or another) since 2016, and we have a special event planned for this year. Gather with them on the banks of the Rio Grande to highlight the importance of water in feeding local and global communities. Details forthcoming here.

We'll be joined by Tiffany Hartung, national Interfaith Power and Light's Chief Strategy Officer. Thanks to the IRA, your congregation can get a 30% rebate (called “elective pay” or “direct pay”) for solar panel installation and for a few other renewable energy efforts. Join our webinar to learn how this works and get your questions answered. We’ll also be sharing updates about the Department of Energy’s Renew America's Nonprofit grant for energy efficiency.
