Greetings everyone,

We had a great and busy month of October!

Would like to start this newsletter with a farewell to Monica Bennett, who as you all know was the Office Manager at the Chamber. She wanted to share a goodbye with you all.

"As October draws to a close, I wanted to take a moment to let you all know that I will be leaving my position as the Chamber's Office Manager. It has been an absolute pleasure and honor to serve you all for the past few years. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce my replacement, Alison Johnson, who will be taking over my role. I have no doubt that she will be an excellent addition to the Chamber team with her competence, friendliness, and articulateness. I will certainly miss you all, and wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Thank you for the memories and experiences that i will always cherish."

-Monica

We would like to again acknowledge the latest member of the month, Catherine Scibelli of Ridgewood Savings Bank. She is primarily in Bellmore, but active in the Baldwin and Freeport branches as well.

We had 2 ribbon cuttings this month, and would like to congratulate and wish best of luck to Meadowbrook Care Center and South Shore Guidance Center moving forward!

We did have to cancel our fall fest, due to weather, which was disappointing, but we look forward to more events that will be happening this winter!

Although we had to re-schedule our Golf outing for Patrick Ryder, and unfortunately some could not make it, it was a great time. The Coral House cocktail hour and dinner were a success, and a blast!

Exciting news, two of our members gave birth this past month, Jenny of Gala Foods, and Jessica of Taco Tuesday's. Congratulations ladies!

Thank you again to the staff of Half Way Down for hosting our Luncheon this month. We had a great speaker, Geri Barish who is the Executive Director of Hewlett House. She spoke on breast cancer, and the attempt to bring more awareness to it.

Our next luncheon will be at Seafood Grill on Tuesday November 14th, and our speaker is going to be Stuart Richner of Richner Communications. Come join us!

Congratulations to Adrian Macias of Malone, Tauber, and Sohn for passing the Bar Exam!

As you know, last month we shared the news of the heroic Ukrainian man, Volodymyr Zubko who saved a man's life in Freeport. This month the Chamber, Mayor Kennedy, Freeport Police and Fire Departments, and Nassau County, honored him at a Press Conference, where he was told the news that he will be nominated for the New York State Liberty Award, which honors civilian heroism.

A reminder about the 300 Club dinner, which will be held at the Freeport Yacht Club on December 7th. All members are encouraged to grab your raffle tickets, you can contact Greg Giannotti or Alison at the Chamber office to request tickets. Doors open at 6:45 PM. No one will be admitted without a ticket, and the last day for ticket sales is November 28th, so be sure to get yours!

Last, but not least, another congratulations to Cait Fitzsimmons, and Dawn Perkins from Atlantic Hardware, who were our Freeport Honorees for NCCC Business Person of the Year.

Happy Halloween everyone, stay safe!

Thank you again for your continued support towards the Chamber. We look forward to sharing what we have planned for the rest of the year for you all.
