Do either you or your loved one have memory loss?

Anyone with early stage memory loss, or anyone caring for someone with any stage memory loss, is invited to join. This is a free educational group with support and information specific to dementia. Help each other by
sharing common challenges and coping strategies.
The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month.

Family Trees: The Good and the Bad

At one time, family trees were found in books only. Now there are millions of family trees on line. We will look at not only the construction of these trees but also the benefits and the pitfalls associated with these trees. The session is intended to help those who have never done research and to enhance the knowledge of seasoned researchers.

A narrative genealogy or family history is a collection of biographies of people related by blood – in other words, an anthology of the life stories of kinfolk. are people here at LVMG who would like to walk alongside you on this
difficult and sometimes lonely path we know as grief. GriefShare is a
13-week resident-led, non-denominational grief support group that offers
spiritual guidance, informational videos, and workbooks for personal
reflection as you navigate this difficult path known as grief. For

Bead Class

After a summer off from meeting, the Bead Club will start our fall season! Anna Moore will make a presentation on using bead jewelry techniques to make holiday ornaments for small Christmas trees. She will show trees decorated with ornaments made from beads, buttons, charms and other items. Tips for finding materials, techniques for making ornaments, and a basic list of tools will be presented. The other goal of the session will be to discuss ideas for future meetings. Feel free to bring your bead jewelry in progress or that you have made since our last meeting.

Great Decisions 2024

It’s time to register for our Foreign Policy Association’s 2024 Great Decisions Program. In 2023 we had about 35 participants and we welcome more. This year’s eight topics are: Mideast Realignment, Climate Technology and Competition, Science Across Borders, U.S. - China Trade Rivalry, NATO’s Future, Understanding Indonesia, High Sea Treaty, and Pandemic Preparedness. We will meet every other week in February through June in the Learning Center. For each topic participants read an introductory article by a foreign policy practitioner or scholar and at our meeting we view a video lecture that provides a framework for our discussion which will be led by one of our participants. There will be a $30 fee charged to your LVMG account to cover the book and materials. If you have any questions or

Ongoing Parkinson’s Support Group

Parkinson’s Disease is something that many people are faced with and must adjust to the everlasting changes that occur. These changes are for the person diagnosed, but also their partner, spouse, friend. If you have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s or are a loved one caring for a person living Parkinson’s please consider our support group. In the group, it is a place of sharing experiences, discussing new topics of the disease, and learning
how to adjust to the new lifestyle.

Rummikub
Saturdays at 1:00 pm - Pub
Each Saturday join residents to play Rummikub. Easy to learn and fast moving, different every time played, combines luck and strategy, and changes quickly so every player has a chance to win until the very end. Players take turns placing numbered tiles in runs and groups, rummy style. The 'board' continually changes as players adjust the tiles on the table. Be the first player to play every tile on your rack to win.
