New Parking Lot Lights
The library had the parking lot lighting updated to LED, so the shorter autumn days will be well-lit when you visit! As you can see by the before and after photos, the update to LED lights makes a huge difference! The new lights are more energy efficient as well. A generous donor to Bismarck Library Foundation covered 75% of this lighting replacement project; the library's operating budget covered the remaining funds. Thank you!

Manga: Explore A New World!
Manga is a Japanese genre of comics that has become immensely popular worldwide and has even made its way into popular culture, with references in movies and TV shows. The style developed in Japan in the late 19th century and is typically read from right to left. Like fiction books, manga can be broken down into various genres, making it accessible to a broad audience and specific age ranges. The medium is easy to read and offers context clues through its images.
The library has made it easier for patrons to access the growing manga collection by labeling the book spines with the volume numbers, making it easier to find and keep the books in order. Additionally, patrons can search the library catalog by the title of a manga series to see all volumes in the set. Some recommended popular collections include My Hero Academia, Fullmetal Alchemist, Demon Slayer, One Piece, and Pokemon Adventures. A staff personal favorite is Ghost in the Shell (18+). Not all manga are suitable for all ages, so check the age rating labels before diving in.
