Driveway markers may help this winter

It’s October and the snow is bound to fall at some point and time. While no one is quite ready for the “s” word, it’s time to start thinking about winter preparation.

Mandan Public Works is encouraging residents to install driveway markers before the snow begins to fall. These tall, skinny, bright colored pole markers assist plow operators in identifying curbs and driveways. A simple “help us, help you” tool to save tax dollars, proving to be very beneficial during big, winter storms that require additional assistance from private snow removal contractors.

Please contact the Public Works Department with questions at 701-667-3240

Properties recognized in Community Beautification Program

In September, the City Commission recognized two properties for the Community Beautification Recognition program:

  • Johanneson property on Second St NW
  • Boehm Property on Buckskin Rd SE

Community members nominated the properties for landscape maintenance or enhancements.

The Beautification Recognition program is a way to recognize properties that enhance the aesthetic appeal of the community. Both residential and commercial properties located within city limits are eligible. Projects must be street facing, river view or other publicly viewable areas or landscapes. Nominations are forwarded to the Community Beautification Committee for consideration.

Nominate a property or view photos of the properties recognized through the program thus far at cityofmandan.com/recognitionprogram. Nominations are accepted year-round.
