It’s that time of year when our days grow shorter, the air is crisper, the night sky is brighter, and our sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. We prepare for the seasonal change as we pack away our summer things, don our warmer clothes, try to resist turning on the heat, and enjoy the season of apples, squash, and pumpkins. October is a time of change.
I hope you are enjoying your ALL courses now that we are back and busy. We have many new courses, new coordinators, and new members who are a great addition to our seasoned coordinators and members. Thanks to all the coordinators who engage us, as well as entertain, inform, and enrich our lives through Zoom, Hybrid, or in-person classes. Seeing people sitting in the lobby, chatting with friends, or chatting on Zoom as they wait for their next class to begin makes all we do so worthwhile.
Yes, change is a constant of ALL – not just the coordinators and classes offered, but the makeup of the board of directors and committees. Some board members’ terms expire this year, and they will need to be replaced. Might you be interested? If you can’t make a long-term commitment, can you give us a few hours of your time? Do you have tech/computer/media skills, expertise in finance or strategic planning, creative or editing skills? Data entry? We are an organization of volunteers, and we need some help to make a difference and keep ALL the great organization that it is. If you can help in any way, speak to Cynthia when you are in the office or email her at lifelonglearning@capecod.edu
Since we are also a social group, we’re looking forward to seeing you at the Back-to-School night at the end of October; check your email for more information in the coming weeks.
