From the Mayor

Dear Larchmonters,

Fall is finally here! I hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather!

Unfortunately, the wet weather pulled the plug on Larchmont Day. However, the Village has several events lined up for the rest of October and November! From traditional events like the Ragamuffin Parade...to new events such as Larchmont's first annual Fall Fest...to the Window Painting that's making a comeback...Larchmont is a great place to celebrate all things Fall! Click the button below for the full upcoming events list for October and November:

In other news, Deputy Mayor Dana Post and I attended a tri-municipal vigil to show support for the State of Israel, along with our colleagues in the Town of Mamaroneck and Village of Mamaroneck, several local, County, and State officials, and local Jewish leaders from the Larchmont and Mamaroneck areas. It was a solemn and moving event, and an opportunity for us as local leaders to show support for Israel and our Jewish neighbors in the wake of the terrible terrorist attacks earlier this month. Scroll down to see some pictures from the vigil and a video by LMC Media.

Finally, I'd like to highlight that with the start of the fall clean-up season, Electric Leaf Blowers are allowed to be used during the period of October 15 thru December 15, with certain limitations. Gas-powered leaf blowers are prohibited at all times. Scroll down for more information!

I hope to see you around the Village and at our upcoming events!

Warm regards,

Mayor Sarah Bauer

Village News

Oct 15 - Dec 15: Electric Leaf Blowers permitted for Fall Clean-Up. Gas-Powered Leaf Blowers Prohibited at all times.

Electric leaf blowers may be used during this period only during the following times:

  • Mondays through Fridays, excluding holidays: between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays: between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
  • Sundays and holidays: property owners only between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

As leaves fall, consider mulch-mowing as an alternative to piling leaves for collection. Or, collect leaves from hardscapes and landscapes and place them around shrubs and trees, and in garden beds and compost piles. Grass clippings and leaves will protect pollinators, suppress weeds, nourish the soil and minimize the need for chemical fertilizer.

As unexpected heavy rainfall is now the norm, it is very important to ensure that street storm drains are kept free of debris. Call the Village at (914) 834-6965 to report a drain in need of clearing.

Reminder: Dogs at Village Parks

Residents are reminded that dogs are allowed in most parks, but must be leashed at all times. In addition, dogs are prohibited in Flint Park as they present a health risk for organized camp and youth activities at the park.

Tri-Municipal Vigil to Show Support for the State of Israel

The Village of Larchmont, Village of Mamaroneck, and Town of Mamaroneck came together on Wednesday, October 11th, at Harbor Island Park for a community vigil showing support for the State of Israel in the wake of devastating terrorist attacks. It was an inspiring event featuring speeches from County Executive George Latimer, County Legislator Catherine Parker, NYS State Senator Shelley Mayer, NYS Assembly member Steve Otis, local elected officials and Rabbis from synagogues in the Larchmont and Mamaroneck areas. Larchmont's own Deputy Mayor Dana Post spoke on behalf of the Village, stating that "unity is our strength in the face of terrorism."
