Bringing Visibility to Disability in North Port

Heron Creek Golf Country Club hosted a highly successful Loveland Center golf tournament on September 30th. Golfers were treated to a delightful breakfast sponsored by PGT Industries, and received gift bags thanks to the Title Sponsor, Burnt Store Title of SWFL. The golfers were able to participate in several activities on the course, including a Hole in One competition sponsored by Charlotte County Ford, a Longest Drive competition sponsored by JE Charlotte Construction, and a silent auction to win various gift baskets. A lunch buffet was served in the beautiful dining room, which offered a picturesque view of the golf course. The top three foursomes were awarded trophies, making the event even more memorable. It was a great day for golf lovers, with beautiful weather and exciting activities.

Center Spotlights

We are thrilled to share the news of Becky's progress in socialization with peers and community involvement. Becky is a true testament to the power of determination and hard work. Her dedication to personal growth is admirable, and we are proud to be a part of her journey. By going out in the community more often, Becky is expanding her horizons and building meaningful connections with those around her. Congratulations, Becky!

We are excited to introduce you to Steven, a remarkable individual in our Port Charlotte ADT program. Steven's keen observational skills make him a valuable asset to the people around him. He is always looking out for others and is quick to lend a helping hand. Steven has been working hard to improve his communication skills, and we have seen tremendous progress. His friendly and approachable personality is evident in the way he greets staff and peers with a warm wave or a handshake. Great job Steven!

Spotlight on HERO

HERO (Helping Everyone Realize Opportunities ) North Port is proud to announce the growth and progress of Julien in the areas of participation and communication. Julien loves to play with his peers, but knows when to take a break and recharge. His ability to prioritize his own needs while still enjoying time with his friends is a lesson for us all. Our afternoons at HERO are filled with fun activities, fostering social skills and communication, and we are thrilled to see Julien thrive in this environment.

If you or someone you know is looking for an inclusive after-school program and is interested in learning more about HERO please email enrollment@lovelandcenter.org or call (941)493-0016.

With these skills, they can navigate their daily lives with greater ease, contribute to their local community through volunteering, and even explore future employment opportunities. Keep up the great work!
