A Southern Baptist Association

From Your

Associational Mission Strategist

I praise God for the great annual meeting we had at FBC Cordele! We had another great attendance this year and I am thankful to everyone who came. We had approximately 100 in our worship service and we had approximately 50 in our children and youth programs. During our business session, the messengers re-elected Reed Benson as Moderator and Terry Ryan as Vice-Moderator. The 2024 budget was approved as well as the nominating committee report. The messengers unanimously approved the revisions in our Constitution and By-laws. The worship service was very powerful as Daniel Stewart and the Praise Team led us in worship through song and I am very thankful to Heather Grinolds for a very moving message in song! I also am grateful for Jeff Sanders singing with me as we sang "Shine on Us" before Dr. White brought a very moving message from Psalm 80. I am thankful that Dr. White was with us and his message stirred our hearts! We were also blessed to hear from Rev. Jeremy Barrett (Riverview Baptist) as he preached a powerful message from 1 John 1:8-10. I am very appreciative of FBC Cordele for hosting our meeting this year. Pastor Von and his members did a fantastic job in hosting! I am looking forward to next year as we meet again for our annual meeting at FBC Unadilla on September 8th, 2024.

As we begin this new church year I am praying for our churches as they plan and continue to reach people with the Gospel. I shared during our annual meeting a strategic plan for getting the gospel into every home in our association's geographical location. This effort will include churches coming together on a specific day to go home to home distributing gospel tracks, a Jesus Film DVD, as well as information about each specific church that is distributing the gospel material. This will be an effort that everyone in the church can be involved in which includes children and youth. I will be meeting with the Pastors of our churches and any other church leaders who would like to attend to get the maps and the materials. I will be setting the date for the meetings soon. I hope that every church will get involved in this effort. I am praying that God will do a great work through our churches as we work together to plant the seed of the Gospel and pray that many will give their lives to Christ!

It is a joy to serve our Pastors and our churches. I am very blessed that God has allowed me to serve our churches for the past 13 years. I am praying God will give me many more years to come alongside you as we build the Kingdom of God.
