CLIENTS ARE EMBRACING E-PAYMENTS

Since our announcement in July, hundreds of clients have been switching to E-Payments for their premiums. Thank you to all who have made the move.

Please note that until we have fully transitioned at the end of 2024 to accept only E-Payments for premiums, a new cheque-handling protocol has been implemented, requiring cheques to be mailed to our new lockbox address (and not the business address).

Read the Announcement and Find the Lockbox address.

Risk Education

POOR CHOICES

It’s an infrequent mistake, but it happens: Consultants and projects are chosen unwisely, and the architect must assume responsibility for the consequences. In these two stories, those errors are about to doom the projects . . . until a second—extremely rare—phenomenon occurs: fate steps in and saves the day. The odds of winning Lotto Max are about 33 million to one. The odds of your project being saved by blind luck are in about the same range.

MYTH BUSTING: DO MY PREMIIUMS INCREASE AFTER A CLAIM?

We often hear from clients (after the fact) that they hesitated to advise us of a potential claim (and tried to go it alone) out of concern that their premiums would increase. This is just NOT the case. There is no impact to your premiums should you have to report a claim or for reporting claims in general. If anything, you will gain some peace of mind after talking over your situation with someone - like Sal, Lesley or John - who will understand and help you work through it.

For a handful of firms with multiple, significant claims within a 10-year period, where claims costs exceed premium collected, the Claims Expense Contribution is applied.

ENGAGING IN TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION

During the week of September 25, the Pro-Demnity team participated in the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation's Lunch and Learn Sessions and showed our support for residential school survivors and their families leading up to September 30.

We are continuing our journey of discovery and learning, while deepening our understanding of this important Canadian issue.
