Dear SWAN Parents, Families and Friends,

October is upon us, and I am so glad to see we have had a wonderful start to the school year. A big welcome to SWAN's newest program; Swan's full-day kindergarten families and CBE Prospect Park After-School families! The team and I are thrilled about the expanded program and we cannot wait to see all the learning and growing we are going to do together.

This school year, we are not only working hard to deliver effective teaching, but our classrooms are increasing parents' involvement by sharing lesson plan, class highlights, and Back-to-School-Survey for feedback. Best of all, Preschool Class Parents are resuming this month! Parents' involvement is stronger than any teacher's influences, when you see the take-home class assignment, a picture and/or class video on Google Classroom, take the moment and encourage your child to speak about it together.

Another new item that I would like to share is the after-school education model. Starting this school year, the after-school program will launch a new assessment system that tracks students' current Chinese speaking, reading, and writing level. In the upcoming Parents-Teacher-Conference, you will receive a summary of your child's current progress and expected 3 - 6 months learning goals. Mark your calendar, the first Zoom Parents-Teacher-Conference will be held during the first week of November, lookout for sign-up sheet in Google Classroom on and after 10/27.

On another note, we are super excited to start a new tradition at SWAN this school year! Starting in November, every Friday is SWAN's Spirit Week! It's a fantastic opportunity to show your SWAN PRIDE and strengthen SWAN's community spirit! Click here to pre-order your t-shirt and T-shirt distribution is every Tuesday starting on 10/31/2023.
