Harmelin Media Scholarship
|

WBEC-East is proud to partner with Harmelin Media a to offer the Harmelin Media Women-Owned Business Scholarship, which will provide up to $10,000 in direct support to a woman entrepreneur starting or expanding their business. Harmelin Media is dedicated to supporting women business owners and entrepreneurs and advocates for their growth and advancement in an increasingly complex world.
Applications for the Harmelin Media Women-Owned Business Scholarship are accepted on a rolling basis. Two scholarships will be awarded in a calendar year. You may reapply at any time. Given the challenges faced especially by marginalized women entrepreneurs, women of color and those holding a veteran status are strongly encouraged to apply.

Kauffman FastTrac® Series
|

The Kauffman FastTrac® Series is a virtual course designed to help entrepreneurs evaluate and perfect their business concept, as well as complete a comprehensive business plan.
This 10-week series is offered twice a year and is appropriate for those who are new entrepreneurs seeking a plan for establishing their business. The course welcomes a guest expert every week to discuss topics such as business tax, competitive analysis, marketing, and profitability. Graduates of the course receive a certificate and lifetime access to the online FastTrac® platform via Canvas.

U.S. Small Business Administration Announces Call for Nominations for 2024 National Small Business Week Awards
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced the call for nominations for the 2024 National Small Business Week (NSBW) Awards. The NSBW Awards recognize the outstanding achievements, triumphs, contributions, and resilience of SBA-assisted small businesses that help to drive the American economy.
To nominate a small business owner in your area or download related forms, criteria, and guidelines, visit sba.gov/nsbw. All nominations must be submitted electronically by 4 p.m. ET on December 7, 2023. The awards will be presented during the NSBW Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., from April 28-29, 2024.

2023 NJ SDDC Annual Conference

On October 4th the NJ Board of Public Utilities Supplier Diversity Development Council will host its annual Business Opportunities conference at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Monroe Township, NJ.
Attendees will be able to learn about upcoming contract opportunities in the utility industry and also meet with Procurement representatives from 12 utilities along with large prime vendors who are looking to recruit diverse firms. Space is limited.
