Happy Pro Bono Week! PILI has officially kicked off our celebration, which continues over the next week through November 9th with events across Illinois to Celebrate Pro Bono. Coordinated by the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service, Pro Bono Week is intended to inspire even greater pro bono participation by lawyers throughout the nation. It is also less than two months until our 2023 Annual Awards Luncheon on December 6th. • Applications for Spring Semester 2024 Law School Internships and Summer 2024 Graduate Fellows are now open. PILI will fund 10 Law Student Interns at nine public interest law organizations in the Spring Semester. Graduate Fellowships are also available at more than 60 organizations statewide. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all agencies have completed their hiring. Learn more here »

• PILI Alumni & YPB Illinois Free Legal Answers Clinic. Celebrate Pro Bono Week with PILI's Alumni Network and Young Professionals Board by answering civil legal questions for those in need through this pro bono opportunity. Hosted by Sidley Austin on November 1st from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., the clinic will be followed by a networking reception. Attendees will also receive 0.5 hour MCLE credit pending approval. • Register Now for PILI's Illinois Forum on Pro Bono. Join us on November 8th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the CBA for PILI’s Illinois Forum on Pro Bono, which brings together pro bono stakeholders from corporations, law firms, law schools and public interest law agencies to discuss ideas and strategies to expand and enhance pro bono in Illinois. Attendees will receive 2.0 hours of Professional Responsibility MCLE credit and the event will include a network reception. • PILI Partners with the Illinois Bar Foundation on Week of Service. The Illinois Bar Foundation is holding a Week of Service from November 6th through 10th. As part of that effort, PILI is pleased to partner with the IBF on two CLEs focused on serving veterans through our work with IL-AFLAN and as part of our Virtual Pro Bono CLE Series. • PILI Receives Renewed Foundation Support. PILI has recently received renewed funding of $12,000 from the Community Foundation of Central Illinois (CFCI) and $55,000 from the Illinois Equal Justice Foundation (IEJF). We are incredibly grateful for this continued supports of our work! Read more »
