Meetings will be held at 6pm at Valdese Town Hall Council Chambers

Next Planning Board Meeting

Monday, October 21st, 2024 4:00 P.M.

The Planning Board reviews amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, preliminary and final subdivision plats, rezoning applications and considers other development issues that affect the town. Planning Board members also serve as the town’s Board of Adjustment for any variance cases that may arise. The Planning Board meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 4pm in the office of the Planning Director located at Town Hall - 102 Massel Ave SW.

Tickets are on sale now for the spookiest spooky time event of the season: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at the Fred B Cranford Amphitheatre.

This is a reimagined retelling of the old Washington Irving legend. Please be advised, there will be a headless horseman roaming around trying to take people's heads, so not for the faint of heart or for young children.

A Message From the Valdese Recreation Department

“Hurricane Helene minimally impacted our services to citizens. With the help of Friends of the Valdese Rec volunteers, much of the parks are cleared. McGalliard Falls Park remains closed as we remove trees that came down in the storm and address areas with significant erosion.

In the community center, we are happy to be open to serve the community with showers and spaces where devices can be charged. We also have WiFi available for patrons.

The pool remains open in the mornings for exercise, and open swim is open in the afternoons and early evening. Please check the website for hours and schedules, and any adjustments will be announced on the Town of Valdese facebook page.

Outdoor soccer for our youth is set to resume with only a few changes. We are working with the county to figure out a plan for our football and cheer programs.
