From equipment operators to directors, an engaged and well-trained workforce is the backbone to public works departments across the country. To support its membership, the American Public Works Association works hard to stay across current trends and future challenges in the workforce by engaging its members in groups like the Workforce Development Committee. Inspiring Leadership and Innovation: Pay It Forward Projects by TLP Cohorts 7 & 8

On September 19, 2024, members of Cohorts 7 and 8 of the CT Transportation Leadership Program gathered to present their Pay It Forward Projects in Storrs, CT. The event showcased fresh perspectives on leadership, innovation, and teamwork. Participants delivered creative solutions, ranging from maintenance ideas to new program initiatives, with energy and enthusiasm. Presenters for the day included Scott Yeomans, Steven Jamele, Ken Ash, Rick Arborio, Alex Klose, Ben North, Michael Ciacciarella, Anthony Giannelli, Norman Ortiz, and Peter DiCesare.
