Jumpstart Germantown's 30th Training Program

Milestones!

In September the 30th Jumpstart Germantown Training Program started and the 65 participants will graduate October 10th! In almost 10 years more than 1,500 people have graduated from the Jumpstart Germantown Training Program. Participants learn about the 7 JumpSteps of Residential Real Estate Development from a dozen different experts in the field. They also have the opportunity to be paired with an experienced mentor and visit a Jumpstart project underway.

One of our favorite sessions of the training program is the Construction Site Visit! This cohort got to visit the freshly demoed project of Jumpstart graduate and repeat borrower Donna Tiffany Tull, who was excited to host our class of aspiring developers and share her story and lessons learned. Thanks Donna!

Welcome Mansi!

Mansi Patel is a sophomore at Drexel University majoring in Economics and Data Science. Mansi aspires to start her own business in the food industry while also pursuing real estate on the side. We are excited to have Mansi working with the Jumpstart Germantown and Jumpstart Phily program through March 2025!

"I’m thrilled to begin my first co-op at Philly Office Retail, as I’m already passionate about the real estate sector and eager to gain hands-on experience. In my free time, I love weightlifting, cooking, and diving into a good book. I’m excited to combine my interests and skills to make a meaningful impact in both industries."

Property Assessment Appeal -

Deadline Oct 7th

Do you disagree with the City's assessed value of any property you own? The deadline to file a 2025 market value appeal is October 7, 2024. The market value assessment is the basis for the City Real Estate taxes, and if you think the City made a mistake - appeal!

Assessment appeals should prove at least one of the following:

The estimated market value of your property is too high or too low
The estimated market value of your property is not uniform with similar surrounding properties
The characteristics of your property that affect its value are substantially incorrect

Jumpstart Philly Project Update!

Congrats to Vlad Versailles - a first time Jumpstart Philly borrower who recently completed a major renovation project in North Philly. This triplex renovation was not without its headaches, but Vlad kept a great attitude, and didn't let a day go by without checking in on the progress. His diligence paid off!

Now two low income renters will have a new place to call home as Vlad will be renting via PHA's Housing Choice Voucher Program. We're so glad to be able to help finance this project and assist Vlad with this transformative renovation.
