CHAIR MESSAGE

Your Promo Partners
October is here and we’re looking forward to a busy month with some great networking opportunities and fall activities. We have two ribbon cuttings scheduled for October. On October 9th we have a ribbon cutting at Bella Notte. On October 22nd Little Pops NY Pizzeria Trattoria will be hosting a ribbon cutting. Be sure to stop by and welcome these new members to the Chamber.
Our monthly LINCT meeting will be October 16th at Swallow Stories Bookshop. LINCT meetings are free to attend and they’re a great way to meet and network with other chamber members. For more networking be sure to check out the Multi-Chamber “Fall Into Business” Progressive Networking Luncheon. It will be on October 24th at Villa Olivia Country Club in Barlett. Visit the Chamber Website to register for this event or for more information on any chamber event.
With October comes Halloween and our Downtown Business Council will be hosting Downtown Lisle Trick-or-Treating on Saturday, October 26th from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. on Main Street. Thanks to Debbie Pawlowicz of DPG Real Estate for sponsoring the Trick-or-Treat bags for the kids. It’s free to attend so bring the kids and enjoy this fun Halloween event.
Mark your calendars for more networking at Emerge Wealth Strategies on November 7th. They will be hosting a Business After Hours. This is a great opportunity to network and visit with other chamber members in a relaxed after hours atmosphere. I hope you can join us for an evening of networking.
Of course, fall brings us the Turkey Trot Tune-Up 5K. This year it will be November 17th. Registration is now open. There are also sponsorship and volunteer opportunities as well. For more details for this and more chamber events visit the Lisle Area Chamber website.
I hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween and I hope to see you at some of these great events.
Sincerely,
Tom Thornton

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Christopher Fry
Pulse Studio LLC
Christopher Fry of Pulse Studio LLC is this month’s featured Ambassador. Christopher has been a Chamber member for just over a year and has recently started attending the Ambassador meetings. He is learning about how the Committees work and then will figure out what he wants to do and where he can help the Chamber.
Christopher is the owner of Pulse Studio and one of its original founders. In 2006, he started freelancing with his best friend, Tom Munz. Christopher went full time in 2008. In 2010, he became an owner. In July 2024, Pulse Studio has been in the event design & content creation business for 18 years. As a business owner, Christopher does it all: Administration, business development, creative designer, marketing & social media coordinator, quality controller, checking timesheets and creating invoices. He’ll even clean the bathrooms if they need it between professional servicing. Christopher feels that you should know what it takes to do every aspect of your business, and you shouldn’t think you are above anyone else’s role.
In 2005, Christopher moved with his wife Marci to Lisle and fell in love with the small town feel of the community. He wanted to be closer to his previous engineering job and near the train station for Marci’s job downtown. Their first home in Lisle was behind Del Debbio’s just north of the downtown area. As his family grew to include 3 children, they wanted to stay in Lisle, so they moved into Pine Hill. Christopher is a dog person, and his wife is a cat person, so they compromised on a goldfish his kids won from Naperville’s Last Fling. His name is Chubby Bubblesworth the III because he grew larger and ate the other two fish they had won that day. Christopher likes to build things out of wood, fix broken things, archery and trying to keep the plants in his yard alive.
Christopher is looking forward to ribbon cutting ceremonies and learning about the other wonderful businesses/services/stores we have in Lisle. He loves meeting people and filing them in his brain for when someone asks if he has any recommendations. Christopher’s bits of wisdom he likes to impart are: 1) Be nice to everyone and treat them how you want to be treated. You never know when you might be looking for help with something or want them to hire you. 2) It took him a long to realize this, but your network is your biggest asset. You may be good at something but if you don’t nurture your connections you won’t grow. 3) Financial planning – Opening a business is super-stressful. Once you have the ability to start saving, put money aside to cover any slow periods.

Navistar, Inc. announced it will rebrand and change its name to International Motors, LLC (“International”), effective October 1, 2024. Along with the name change, the company debuted a refreshed logo and distinct visual identity.
The rebrand reflects International’s new vision and direction and showcases its growth as a member of the TRATON GROUP. The rebranding is a result of strategic and creative decisions that included input from employees, dealers, customers, and other valued stakeholders. The new brand marks an important chapter in our company's rich and illustrious legacy.
International will focus on more than engineering and producing truck and bus products. We are making the strategic shift to invest in solutions to simplify the customer experience. While the product remains the core of every customer interaction, International’s full solutions portfolio will continue to focus on and expand its services such as parts, maintenance, financing, connectivity, and charging.
Our new brand and name will launch on September 25, 2024, and become effective October 1, 2024. Changes will be actualized over the course of several months.
Stay tuned for more information through our ongoing communications and marketing campaigns.
