IAED Celebrates 60th Anniversary

On October 17th, IAED investors and special guests gathered at The Dean to raise a glass and toast our 60th anniversary. President Heather McDaniel presented a timeline and oral history of the organization. Though it has matured since 1964, IAED's mission has remained the same: support business and employment in Tomkins County. IAED expects to host several other events during this Diamond celebration year to share our story and celebrate the investors and industry partners that make it possible. Thank you for your support!

IAED Launches Community Pulse Survey

IAED and the Economic Development Resource Providers Group have contracted with a leading industry consultant to design a Countywide Economic Development Strategy, which is intended to serve as a roadmap for economic development to benefit the communities and economy of Tompkins County for the next 5-10 years.

As part of that effort, IAED is seeking input from all corners of the county. Please take a moment to complete the survey and guide investment in economic prosperity. The survey will remain open until November 8th.

IAED Supports 6th Annual MADE Event

On October 10th, TC3 hosted the 6th Annual Manufacturing and Development Expo (MADE) event. The event coincides with National Manufacturing Day and offers area manufacturers and students the opportunity to engage through interactive displays. This year, more than 20 manufacturers and 250 students from surrounding districts participated in the all-day session. Several manufacturers that participate in IAED’s Direct to Work: Pathways to Manufacturing program were at the event and created interactive displays to teach students about the industry, gain a deeper understanding of regional opportunities, and gain hands-on experience with STEM concepts. IAED was an event sponsor and hosted a table for students to try Virtual Reality (VR) headsets and practice manufacturing skills.
