Compost Your Pumpkins!

Unpainted pumpkins go into your green cart!

Did you know, approximately one billion pounds of pumpkins get landfilled yearly in the U.S.?! That's pumpkin worth talking about, because most of those can be composted instead!

If your pumpkin is:

🎃 unpainted

🎃untreated

🎃free from candles/decor

it goes into your green cart for composting. Because pumpkins are too GOURD to waste!

Wally Turns 25!

Come celebrate with us at Wally Waste-Not's 25th birthday party! It will be held on National Recycling Day, Saturday, November 15 from 11am-2pm. We will have an afternoon full of fun activities, food, and giveaways! We can't wait to celebrate all of our recycling successes together.

Salinas Compost Workshop

This Saturday, October 18, we will be hosting our compost workshop and compost giveaway in partnership with City of Salinas and Republic Services. Come take as much compot as you can haul away, and learn how to make this nutrient rich soil amendment for yourself. Attendees receive one free compost system per household.

Advance registration is recommended so we know you can make it.

School Tours are Back in Season

Now that we're settling back into the school season routine, we're excited to host more school tours at our Education Center! Our tours are always free and include a list of activities like a one-hour landfill/composting tour, composting demonstration, meeting the decomposers from our vermicompost bin, garden exploration, and more!

If you or someone you know are ready to learn about waste and sustainability, check out how to take advantage of our free landfill tours. We'll even help pay for the school bus to get here!
