OCTOBER 2025

Your Vote, Your Voice: A Call to Action

As we approach the November 4th General Election, it’s essential to recognize the significant impact your vote can have on the future of our community and state. This year, Virginians will elect a new governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and all 100 seats in the House of Delegates. These elections will shape policies on education, healthcare, public safety, and more—issues that directly affect our daily lives.

In Virginia, every election is an opportunity to make your voice heard. Whether you’re voting for the first time or have participated in many elections, your vote contributes to the democratic process and helps ensure that our leaders reflect the values and needs of all Virginians.

We encourage you to take the time to learn about the candidates and the issues at stake. Early in-person voting is available now through November 1st, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 4th. Make a plan to vote and encourage others to do the same. Together, we can strengthen our democracy and build a brighter future for Virginia. Join Us This Sunday for Souls to the Polls!

The Fairfax County NAACP invites you to our Souls to the Polls event on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Mt. Vernon Government Center.

This year’s motto comes from Amos 5:24 (NIV)“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” It’s a call to action—a reminder that our work for justice, equity, and righteousness is continuous, powerful, and transformative.

Why October 26 Matters:

  • It’s the only Sunday for early voting before the November 4, 2025 General Election.
  • Polls will be open 1:00 – 5:00 pm, giving many in our community the chance to vote who may not be able to make it on other days.

This Election:

  • Governor and Lt. Governor
  • All 100 members of the House of Delegates

After Sunday Service:

Bring your faith community, friends, family, and neighbors and come cast your vote! Show your “I Voted” sticker and enjoy a free Fish Dinner as our thanks for participating in democracy.

Please share the attached flier with your community, .
