October Reflections from Christie

As autumn arrives, I find myself pausing. The crisp air and brilliant leaves remind me how change, though sometimes daunting, can be both beautiful and necessary. That same rhythm of transformation has defined my career in the nonprofit world — and the story of OneSource itself.

The OneSource we know today was not built overnight. It grew from the vision of several organizations — Executive Service Corps, ReSource, and those organization’s leaders on whose shoulders we now stand — all dedicated to serving nonprofits in unique ways. Over time, the needs of our community called us to do something bold: to merge, to reimagine, and to unify our strengths. By listening and walking alongside nonprofits, we created a stronger, more resilient partner for this region.

I am proud of how far we’ve come — and prouder still of what our sector means for Greater Cincinnati. Nonprofits here don’t just provide services; they elevate lives. Together we drive opportunity, strengthen our economy, and lift up neighbors in ways that resonate across the nation. Our region is recognized for both its generosity and its impact, a model for what mass philanthropy can achieve.

As we gather on October 10 for the 10:10 Experience at Filson’s during the River Roots Festival, I hold this truth close: our work is not about one organization or one leader, but about the collective strength of many.

This fall, I am filled with gratitude — for the journey, for those who walk beside us, and for the seasons still to come.

Celebrating an Emerging Leader: Danyetta Najoli

OneSource Center is proud to honor Danyetta Najoli, Executive Director of Motherless Daughters Ministry, as the recipient of the 2026 OneSource Center Emerging Leader Award.

This award was created to recognize and support minority nonprofit leaders, who remain under-represented across the sector. Each year, the honoree receives a full scholarship to the Nonprofit Leadership Institute’s (NLI) EXCEL leadership development program, a nine-month executive training initiative of the Nonprofit Leadership Institute (NLI), along with a full year of professional executive coaching.

Danyetta stepped into the role of Executive Director at Motherless Daughters Ministry in January 2025, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the human services field. She has served in roles ranging from direct support, program coordinator, learning associate, to senior community builder and holds degrees from Fisk University and Regent University, along with training in coaching, diversity, and cultural humility.

The Motherless Daughters Ministry is a faith-based nonprofit that supports women who have lost or missed the nurturing care of a mother—through death, emotional abandonment, or being raised by a narcissistic parent. Its services, offered online and in person, are uniquely curated by women who have walked this same path, reminding every participant: You are not alone.

For Danyetta, the mission is deeply personal. Having lost her own mother at a young age, she understands both the pain and the healing power of community. “The ministry’s mission is important to me because I want every woman on this journey to know she is not alone,” she shared.

On receiving the award, she reflected: “Being selected as the recipient of the 2026 Emerging Leader Award is special to me because it shines a light on the Motherless Daughters Ministry and the work we are doing to lift up women. It is a great honor to receive this award.”

Furniture Bank

There’s magical history in a pre-loved conference table—and at OneSource, we see it every day. Think of our variety of conference tables (and coordinating chairs!) in our Furniture Bank as more than just furniture; they’re where nonprofits gather to dream, plan, and turn mission into impact, improving life for Greater Cincinnatians. Every conversation, every brainstorm, every laugh and “aha!” moment around these grand tables creates real impact in our community.

Our suggestion: Bring a OneSource conference table into your organization’s workspace! Make ordinary meetings extraordinary. Create a special place where collaboration sparks creativity, planning sparks progress, and shared purpose sparks change.
