October 1, 2027 Executive Board Meeting Recap
The Executive Board met on October 1 and approved the consent agenda, including prior meeting minutes, vendor payments totaling $5.17 million, and the 2027 meeting calendar. The Board also welcomed five new member groups effective January 1, 2027, bringing more than 1,000 additional medical lives to the cooperative.
Several key strategic recommendations from the Operations Committee were approved, including awarding the PBM contract to Express Scripts through June 2030, selecting Empower Health Services as IPBC’s preferred wellness platform partner, moving forward with Lantern as a specialty surgical and infusion care solution, and expanding Maven's family-building, maternity, parenting, and menopause support services to UHC members. The Board also approved a new PPO renewal pooling methodology recommended by the Finance Committee to streamline the renewal process and better align rates with member experience.
In addition to these approvals, the Board reviewed updates on financial performance, benefit administrator survey results, the Member Responsibilities Guide, membership growth and marketing efforts. The meeting concluded with a discussion on succession planning and formal approval of Kaitie Tiede stepping into the Executive Director position effective 7/1/27 - with committee members expressing their appreciation for Dave Cook's contributions and service to the cooperative, who will become the Executive Director Emeritus.
