Fall tennis is in full swing at CORTA! Cooler temperatures make it a great time to be on the courts, and October brings plenty of opportunities to play, volunteer, and connect with our tennis community.

From social events and junior competition to outreach programs and volunteer opportunities, we hope you'll find a way to join us this month!

🇺🇸 Roger Pearce Selected to Represent Team USA!

Congratulations to CORTA member Roger Pearce on being selected to represent the United States at the 2026 ITF Masters Tour World Team Championships in Crete, Greece, this October!

Roger will compete as a member of the United States Men's 75 Team, one of just four players selected to represent the U.S. in the division. Each team match consists of two singles matches and one doubles match.

Roger heads to Crete following an outstanding showing at the USTA National Men's 75 Clay Court Championships, where he teamed with David Fish of Newton, MA, to win the doubles championship—earning a coveted USTA Gold Ball. Roger is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation in Men's 75 Doubles.

Congratulations, Roger! We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments and wish you and Team USA the very best in Crete! 🇺🇸🎾

Looking for more match-play experience for your junior player? Junior MATCH League gives players an opportunity to take the skills they're learning in clinics and lessons and put them into action.

It's a fun, supportive way to gain match experience, build confidence, and become more comfortable with competition.

💙 Outreach is in Full Swing – Volunteers Needed!

October is a busy month for CORTA Outreach! Wheelchair Tennis and Ad In Tennis are getting underway, while our fall TennisWorks! program continues to bring tennis and enrichment opportunities to children in our community.

These programs depend on volunteers, and we'd love to have you join us. You don't have to be a tennis expert—just bring your time, encouragement, and willingness to help!

Q: Does CORTA take Heat index into consideration? 🧐

A: Yes. CORTA considers both heat index and wind chill when allowing league matches to be rescheduled because of severe weather.

Matches may be rescheduled when the actual temperature or wind chill is 32°F or below, or when the actual temperature is 95°F or above or the heat index reaches 103°F or above at match time. Conditions are based on the facility ZIP code as reported by weather.com or The Weather Channel app.

When these thresholds are met, all lines may be rescheduled. Players may elect to play, but any match or individual line that chooses to proceed must be completed unless rain, lightning, or another weather condition interrupts play.
